Luke 15:11-32
The parable of the prodigal is well known, of course. But how seriously do we take its possible implications? Imagine being a part of a family, an institution, in which you had been a faithful participant all your life. Imagine what it would mean for someone to arrive on the scene – someone who is surely a sinner, someone who definitely hasn’t put in the years of service and care and commitment that you have. Now imagine that that newcomer became the focus of attention and celebration! Now…imagine you are invited to rejoice and participate. What will you do…?
