Hebrews 11:29-12:2
“Taking the Baton”
We’re not the first people to be challenged to faithfulness – not by a long shot. Others have run their part of the race, and they have passed the baton to us. What will we do with our leg of the race? How will we gain perspective, courage, and strength, from this “great cloud of witnesses” – other runners – and look to Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith? What we do with the race that is set before us, how we run with perseverance, will be a part of what those who come after us will count on when we pass the baton to them.
