Ephesians 4:1-16
What does it mean to live a life worthy of the calling to which we have been called? It begins with believing the claims about who Christ is and who we are as members of the body of Christ. The first Christians believed that, in Christ, the world as they knew it had fundamentally changed. They believed that true freedom and real connectedness had been accomplished and revealed. They believed all of this despite the signs all around them that captivity and division still reigned. They saw themselves as a renewed people, living in God-given unity and peace. In this way they were transformed and were also empowered to proclaim and share that transformation with others. The world could use more Christ and less captivity. We are here to be equipped to build up the body of Christ – not just by strengthening ourselves, but by inviting, including, and loving others into the body.
