John 15:9-17

Jesus tells his disciples how he and the Father are connected in a relationship of love, and how that relationship of love has included the disciples themselves.  But he doesn’t stop there.  They are to love one another and show that love to the world.  Jesus told the disciples (and us!) in chapter 13 that their (our) love for one another would be the way that the world would know that they (we) are his disciples.  What happens in families teaches us about what should happen in the wider world.  How have your parents shown you examples of love?  What we learn from Jesus, we are to teach to our families and live in our congregational life.  Then the world will know we are Jesus’ disciples!
