Isaiah 6:1-8
In this tale of the prophet’s call we see not only the amazing and holy throne room of God, but the way in which God prepares those whom God calls. We may, like the prophet Isaiah, believe that we are ill-equipped, even unworthy, to respond to God’s call in our lives, but God cleanses and equips us and sends us into the world to live and serve. Sometimes this process can be painful – like hot coals on our lips – but it prepares us to be God’s people and share God’s love in the world.
