Colossians 2:6-15

“Buried in Baptism; Raised Through Faith”

Some ancient baptism rituals actually included removing clothes, being baptized naked, and putting on new clothes.  This was a sign of taking off the world and putting on Christ.  Early Christians seem to have taken symbolically and seriously the reality that to take something on fully, you have to let something else go completely.  What does it mean for us to accept and receive the challenges and promises of baptism into Christ through faith?  What might we be required to bury, release, or remove?
