Luke 15:1-10
“Finding the One”
Is our faith exclusive? Do we look out from our “insiders” position and judge those who, for whatever reason, we might call “sinners,” somehow supposing that we are without sin, and those outside our faith tradition are somehow less important that we are? Jesus, through two parables – about sheep and coins – lets us know that we are not complete without those others. We, even if we consider ourselves the ninety-nine, are never complete without the one. And after all, what if you were the one. What if you ARE the one? It’s clearly not our job to judge. We are called to seek, to love, to welcome, and to rejoice.
