Here, near the end of 2 Samuel, David gives, as an oracle, a eulogy, of sorts, for himself. He sure sounds great! God’s favorite. Super faithful. Fantastic! I wonder – I just wonder – if the story would be a little different if told by someone else…. What do we overlook when we tell our own story? How might the voices and perceptions of others help us understand the truth of our lives and the legacies we create and leave behind?
