“(God) Love(s) Your Enemies” (Jeff Moore, preaching)
Jonah 3:1-4:11
If there’s one thing we know about Ninevites in the Bible, it’s that Israelites don’t like them – and for good reason. As the Assyrian capital, Nineveh was the place from which invaders came to defeat the northern kingdom and threaten the southern kingdom. No wonder Jonah didn’t want to go to Nineveh. God cares about them – even their animals! It turns out (we should’ve known all along…) that our enemies are people, too. They are created and beloved by God.
