Ode to Peace
Art  Show
Featuring work from Meramec Art Students and other St. Louis Artists

in the Art Gallery within Webster Groves Christian Church
located at 1320 W. Lockwood Ave. St. Louis, MO 63122

Each student’s work is their personal interpretation of the word “peace.” This assignment was given by art instructor, John Dyess, to his Friday section of Drawing for Graphics 1 and 2 students at Meramec Community College. In addition John has asked other local artists to also interpret the theme “Ode to Peace” in whatever media they wish. “Ode” is defined as a lyric poem addressing a particular subject. This show is a combination and comparison of visual poems each paying homage to one’s own personal expression of peace. Written Artist statements will accompany each piece of art.

The show will be up through Sun. June 22, 2014.

Gallery hours are 8:30a.m. to 12:30p.m. and 1:30p.m. to 4:30p.m. Mon. through Fri.
